The Lev Zahav (Gold heart) voluntary association was established with the purpose of looking after the welfare of the elderly, improving their quality of life and providing a comprehensive and professional response to questions and issues which arise during this time of life. 

The voluntary association is a nonprofit organization which began operating in the framework of Mishan from 1988 onwards, even prior to its recognition as a registered voluntary association by the voluntary associations registrar in 1994. 

From the time of its establishment to the present, the voluntary association has been actively expanding  its services, seeking out additional senior citizens who require assistance.

The association is active in dozens of branches throughout the country which provide a wide variety of services.

The association has direct channels of communication with leading institutes in Israel including: the National Insurance Institute of Israel, the Holocaust Survivor Welfare Fund, the Ministry of Defense, various health maintenance organizations, insurance companies, protected housing homes, the Israel Guardianship Center  and other entities. 

The Lev Zahav Association is dedicated to providing a wide variety of vital services to senior citizens while ensuring the highest possible standards, with the aim of enabling the senior citizen to remain living in his home and manage as independent a life of possible in his natural, familiar and supportive environment.
